Qualifying tournament assignments for golf include Muskogee Golf Club in 2A for Red Oak and Panama and Heritage Hills Golf Course in 3A boys for Heavener. Girls qualifying tournaments will be April 16. For boys, qualifiers are April 22.

The Poteau league baseball and softball season at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex will start during the week of April

22.

The next LeFlore County Bass Club tournament will be April 20 at Tenkiller Lake, launching from Chicken Creek. The cost is $50 per angler.

The LeFlore County Historical Society will have its sixth annual golf tournament fundraiser on May 10 at Choctaw Country Club. Check-in with a grab-and-go breakfast will be from 8-8:45 a.m., and tee time will be 9 a.m. There will be lunch, door prizes and awards.

The Cavanal Killer 8K run/walk will be May 11, starting at Poteau Primary School at 9 a.m. See runsignup.com or the Poteau Chamber office to register. Registration is $35 through April 26 and $40 after that.

Signups for Poteau Pirates third- through sixthgrade football will be May 27 at Costner Stadium, with third and fourth grade at 6 p.m. and fifth and sixth grade at 7 p.m. Registration is $70. Parents must bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
