A man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping and raping a Stillwater woman in Talihina.

Jonny Buck Mullen was arrested following a week-long ordeal where, according to details from an affidavit filed with the LeFlore County Courthouse, he kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and attempted to strangle the alleged victim.

Mullen was arrested on April 30 on two counts of rape in the first degree, one charge of kidnapping, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of assault and battery by strangulation.

He was arraigned on May 1, and the case is set for the sounding docket on May 16.

On April 29, Deputy Michael Draper of the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Rockin’ H Inn in Talihina where he spoke with the alleged victim, a woman.

According to the account from the woman laid out in the affidavit, Mullen kidnapped her from a house in Stillwater on April 21.

On April 24, she stole the vehicle he was driving and tried to get away.

She drove to her daughter’s home in Stillwater, but Mullen arrived and dragged her out by her hair, and drove out of Stillwater.

He drove her onto a mountain, possibly on the Talimena Scenic Drive, where she said he sexually assaulted her.

On April 29, she said Mullen assaulted her again in a rented room at the Rockin’ H Inn in Talihina.

They left to sell scrap metal in Fort Smith before returning to the motel in Talihina.

The woman was looking for a way to escape when she ran to a nearby convenience store. Mullen followed her and tried to run her over with the car.

Draper spoke with the clerk in the store.

The clerk said her juvenile son saw a woman trying to get away from a vehicle, and was yelling at the man driving to leave her alone.

The clerk said the woman came into the store crying and saying she had been kidnapped, so she called police. Draper took statements from both the clerk and her son.

Draper secured the room at the motel. The woman was transported to Choctaw Nation Hospital to be seen for injuries and for a sexual assault kit to be performed.

The woman sustained injuries to her foot where it had been run over, and she told Draper Mullen had tried to strangle her, although Draper did not see marks on her neck.

Mullen had fled from the area, but came back the next day in the same vehicle while officials were at the motel.

After Mullen led Draper on a chase that led police through Talihina and Whitesboro, the driver crashed and ran.

Mullen, who was the passenger, was arrested.

According to the affidavit, Debra Dill, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, said she witnessed marks on the woman’s body that were consistent with her claims that Mullen had sexually assaulted her.
