Directed by Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Nelson, this new translation of five of Chekhov’s one-act plays – Swan Song, The Bear, The Proposal, The Wedding, and The Harmfulness of Tobacco – brings together farce, comic duologue and bittersweet monologue in what’s set to be a captivating production. October 6–29
For the People, Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis, USA
Commissioned by the Guthrie, this comedy about an Indigenous woman trying to help her community (and prevent outsiders stealing her ideas) draws on Minneapolis’ Dakota and Ojibwe heritage to shine a light on contemporary Native life. October 7 to November 12
Hell’s Kitchen, The Public Theater, New York, USA
A new musical loosely based on Alicia Keys’ chaotic, creative teenage years will feature some of the singer-songwriter’s well-known hits, as well as new material she has written for the production, opening at the downtown non-profit theater where A Chorus Line and Hamilton premiered. October 24 to December 10
Peter Pan, Gate Theatre, Dublin
Wendy, Michael, and John Darling, along with Tinker Bell and the titular leader of the Lost Boys, are transported to 20th-century Dublin in Roddy Doyle’s reimagining of the beloved J. M. Barrie classic, Peter Pan. November 4, 2023 to January 14, 2024

After wowing on Broadway last year, the perennially fabulous Sarah Jessica Parker brings Neil Simon’s 1968 comedy across the pond with co-star husband Matthew Broderick. Expect light, funny, and selfdeprecating: trademark SJP.

A retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice commissioned by Boston Lyric Opera and Opera Grand Rapids, this powerful new opera explores the ties of family and love, parents and children, and husbands and wives. March 1–10, 2024
Macbeth, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington, D.C., USA
Ralph Fiennes takes on the title role in this touring production of the Scottish play. A collaboration with D.C.’s Shakespeare Theatre Company, it’s being staged in warehouses in Liverpool, Edinburgh, and London before migrating stateside. Expect great things from Indira Varma as Lady Macbeth. April 2–28, 2024
