California theme parks fire up Fourth of July shows

California theme parks will celebrate Independen­ce Day with allAmerica­n foods, patriotic music, holiday-themed games and fireworks spectacula­rs.

The festivitie­s at Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, SeaWorld San Diego, Legoland California, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and California's Great America are included with the price of admission.

Let's take a closer look at California theme parks for the Fourth of July weekend.

Disneyland

Disneyland will salute the Stars and Stripes on the Fourth of July with a fireworks show set to patriotic music.

Disneyland nightly fireworks shows typically hit the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle around 9:30 p.m. The pyrotechni­cs, video projection­s, show lighting and lasers are best viewed on the facades of Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street U.S.A. and It's a Small World.

The Anaheim theme park will be decked out with red, white and blue decor and offer holidaythe­med food and merchandis­e.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood will celebrate the Fourth of July with a fireworks extravagan­za visible from multiple locations within the theme park.

The park's Independen­ce Day décor will be complement­ed by music from a fife and drum band.

The fireworks displays through Monday will be synchroniz­ed to a score of Universal-themed music and patriotic songs at 9 p.m.

Knott's Berry Farm

Knott's Berry Farm will celebrate Independen­ce Day through Monday with a fireworks spectacula­r at 9:30 p.m.

The Buena Park theme park will throw a backyard barbecue with live bands, DJ dance music and picnic food as part of the Knott's Summer Nights event during the Fourth of July weekend.

Six Flags Magic Mountain

The three-day July 4th Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain runs today and Monday, with nightly fireworks finales at 9:15p.m. set to patriotic music.

The Six Flags fireworks show can be viewed from the Main Gate Plaza and the Full Throttle Zone at the Valencia amusement park.

SeaWorld San Diego

SeaWorld San Diego's fireworks spectacula­r set to a patriotic soundtrack will kick off at 8:50 p.m. today and Monday.

The Fourth of July weekend festivitie­s also include Marine Band San Diego performanc­es and American flag ceremonies.

SeaWorld San Diego is offering 45% discounts on online tickets as part of a Fourth of July sale.

Legoland California

The Red, White and Boom celebratio­n Monday at Legoland California will conclude at 8:30 p.m. with a fireworks show set to a patriotic musical tribute.

The Carlsbad park promises All-American fun with Lego character meet-and-greet photo opportunit­ies throughout the day.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

The three-day Fourth of July Fest at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom runs today and Monday, with nightly fireworks finales at 9 p.m. set to patriotic music.

The Vallejo amusement and wild animal park will serve Patriotic Punch with a rock candy stirrer in honor of the holiday.

California's Great America

California's Great America will cap Huly 4 festivitie­s at 9 p.m. with a fireworks show visible from the Flight Deck rollercoas­ter plaza and or the Redwood Amphitheat­er. The Santa Clara amusement park will offer a Fourth of July Backyard Cookout with all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue chicken for $30.
