Report: Harry and Meghan evicted from royal cottage
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, have been asked to vacate their home in Britain, suggesting a further fraying of ties with the royal family amid preparations for the coronation of his father, King Charles III. Frogmore Cottage, on the grounds of Windsor Castle west of London, had been intended as the couple's main residence before they gave up royal duties and moved to Southern California. The Sun newspaper reported that Charles started the eviction process Jan. 11, the day after the publication of Harry's explosive memoir, “Spare.”
“We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement. Disclosures Harry made in “Spare” deepened the rift between him and his family. The book included his account of private conversations with his father and his brother, Prince William.
`Family health matter' keeping Kotb off `Today'
Hoda Kotb's recent absence from the “Today” show is due to a family health matter, her co-hosts said on Wednesday's episode.
Kotb last appeared on a live broadcast of the NBC morning show Feb. 17. “We know a lot of you have been wondering how she's doing,” Craig Melvin said. “We can tell you that Hoda's OK. She's got a family health matter that she has been dealing with.” Co-anchor Savannah Guthrie also missed Wednesday's show after testing positive for the coronavirus a day earlier. She left during Tuesday's episode after learning of her positive test.
Bieber cancels all tour dates following diagnosis
Justin Bieber has canceled the remaining dates on his longpostponed Justice World Tour. Bieber, who turned 29 on Wednesday, initially postponed the international tour in June, a month after it began. The singer cited his diagnosis of RamsayHunt syndrome, which left his face partially paralyzed, as the reason.
Bieber resumed touring and played six shows in Europe before going on hiatus again in September to make his “health a priority.”
The announcement the shows would not be rescheduled was made on a verified Twitter account for the tour that encouraged fans to seek out refunds from their point of purchase. The Ticketmaster website lists all tour dates in the U.S., Ireland, France, Poland, Australia, Denmark and the Czech Republic as canceled.
