Gomez, La Mirada get regional victory
La Mirada sophomore point guard Julien Gomez had an impressive doubledouble — 21 points and 19 rebounds — in the Matadoes' 76-59 victory over Bakersfield Christian in the first round of the CIF Southern California Division II boys basketball regionals Tuesday night.
No. 4-seeded La Mirada will host No. 5 Oxnard in the second round today.
