THE GAMES: The Dodgers played a pair of split-squad games Tuesday afternoon. One team beat the Cleveland Guardians, 4-2, at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Ariz. The other allowed 16hits in a 12-1loss to the San Francisco Giants at Camelback Ranch in Glendale.

PITCHING REPORT: Clayton Kershaw allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three in five innings against the Guardians. He is on schedule to start the first game of the Freeway Series on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium . ... Yency Almonte, Brusdar Graterol, Shelby Miller and Wander Suero combined to shut out the Guardians over the final four innings . ... Noah Syndergaar­d started against the Giants and was charged with six runs, failing to complete two of his five innings. The Giants scored four times on four hits in the second inning. Syndergaar­d didn't finish that inning then re-entered the game in the third and pitched into the fifth. He was charged with two more runs without finishing that inning. Syndergaar­d's velocity was down from previous Cactus League outings. He said a blister issue on his pitching hand was partly responsibl­e.

HITTING REPORT: David Peralta was 2 for 3 against the Guardians with his first home run of the spring, a three-run shot off of Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie . ... Jason Heyward doubled in the first inning against the Guardians and scored on a double by James Outman . ... Against the Giants, the Dodgers didn't have a hit off left-hander Alex Wood until Freddie Freeman's fourth-inning single . ... Freeman had two of the Dodgers' four hits and drove in their only run.
