Brown leaves game on cart with knee injury
INGLEWOOD ❯❯ Rams defensive lineman Bobby Brown III left Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a knee injury.
Brown went down during a fourthquarter drive by the Eagles, falling to the grass and writhing in pain as trainers rushed out to his aid and teammates took a knee next to him.
Eventually, the cart came out to take him off the field and into the Rams locker room.
Head coach Sean McVay said he did not have an update on the severity of the injury, but Brown entered the postgame locker room on crutches with a large brace around his right leg.
“It didn't look good with his knee,” McVay said.
Prior to leaving the game, Brown, who has been a key depth piece up front behind Aaron Donald and Kobie Turner, had four tackles for the game.
The Rams also had right tackle Rob Havenstein leave the game in the fourth quarter with an injury. On the ensuing fourth-down play, his backup, rookie Warren McClendon Jr., allowed a sack of quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Havenstein did not return for the final drive of the game. McVay said he did not know the nature of his injury, but that he expected Havenstein to be able to return next week against the Cardinals.
Vermeil honored
The Rams honored former head coach Dick Vermeil's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with a halftime ceremony on Sunday.
Vermeil was the Rams' head coach for the Super Bowl XXXIV championship team when the franchise was in St. Louis. Elected as part of the Hall's 2023 class, Vermeil was flanked by the Lombardi Trophy and his Canton bust as former Rams like Torey Holt and Eric Dickerson stood behind him while he accepted his Hall of Fame ring.
