Using nonstick spray on grater

- Heloise@Heloise.com

DEAR HELOISE ❯❯

Whenever I had to grate cheese, it would usually stick to the grater and make a mess. Then

I had an idea. I got out my nonstick spray, and I sprayed the grater and discovered that the cheese doesn't stick to the grater anymore! It also makes it so much easier to wash afterward.

DEAR HELOISE ❯❯ I'm recently out of the navy and attending college at night. I went into the military right after my high school graduation, so my new apartment is my first real experience of living on my own. I can cook and won't starve, but cleaning seems to be a bit of a problem. There are so many cleaning products out there on the market, but how do I know which ones to buy?

My older sister suggested that I write to you for help because she lives three states away and claims you would know what to do. So, here I am! I need some type of cleaner that isn't expensive because college, rent, food and transportation eat up a lot of my income. I'm open to any hints you might like to give.

These two pamphlets will give you instructions on how to use both vinegar and baking soda throughout your apartment to keep it clean and smelling wonderful. Both products are inexpensive and environmentally safe with many uses, as you will soon find out.

DEAR HELOISE ❯❯ I read the suggestion from the reader who likes to take a thick slice of banana bread and fry it in butter with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. As good as that is, I like to take the slice of banana bread after it's been fried and do a zig-zag of chocolate on top with some banana slices and a big scoop of whipped topping to finish off the dessert. I've actually had guests request that I make it for them when I invite them to dinner.

DEAR HELOISE ❯❯ Whenever I prepare chili, stews, soups, lasagna or eggplant Parmesan, I always make a huge batch. We eat the first batch, and I freeze the rest in freezer-safe plastic bags.

When I've had a long day and I don't feel like cooking when I get home from work, either my husband or I will get out a frozen dish and microwave it.

This is also great for when company drops in during dinnertime. There's always enough for everyone.
