`The Creepy Pumpkin'

- By Daniela Rivera, 6

There is a creepy pumpkin. There was a girl named Jewel. She was not afraid of anything — except for the creepy pumpkin.

One day, Jewel wanted to see the creepy pumpkin. She knew her parents would say no, so she snuck out of her room through the window.

She searched and searched and searched. And then she finally saw the creepiest house ever.

She had to peek through the window. She saw an orange thing and she knew it had to be the creepy pumpkin. There was another window in front of her, but she didn't want to peek in because she thought the creepy pumpkin would see her. So she tried to see on the side but then the creepy pumpkin slowly turned its head and almost saw Jewel.

But she didn't.

Jewel was so scared. Her heart was pumping really really fast. She couldn't really breathe. Then the creepy pumpkin came off of her chair and walked out the door. She walked around the house and Jewel quietly snuck inside the house, and went upstairs. The creepy pumpkin went back inside and then upstairs, looking for Jewel. Jewel hid under her bed, where no one would see her and covered herself with a blanket.

“I smell children,” said the creepy pumpkin.

She looked around her room but all she saw was her creepy stuff. Jewel was scared, but she had a plan. If the creepy pumpkin saw her, then Jewel was going to jump out, grab her and cook the creepy pumpkin!

The creepy pumpkin was still looking for her. She looked in her closet, but no children. She looked in the bathroom, but there were no children to be found. But she knew she smelled children, so she kept looking.

Oh, oh! Jewel had to sneeze.

“Achooo!”

The creepy pumpkin turned around and walked toward the bed. It looked underneath the bed — and all it saw was a blanket! The creepy pumpkin turned around and Jewel caught the creepy pumpkin when it jumped off the bed! She covered the creepy pumpkin's mouth so it couldn't breathe and put it in a sack. She put the creepy pumpkin in the oven and it began to smell delicious. She took the pumpkin home, took her to the kitchen and cut it up.

Jewel shared the pumpkin with her family.
