LONG BEACH ❯❯ Millikan's football team ended the regular season on a high note as its potent offense dominated Cabrillo 36-7 in the final Moore League matchup of the season Friday night.

The Rams (7-3, 5-1) were once again led by junior quarterback JP Mialovski, who had yet another superb performance, completing 10 of 13 passes for 267 yards and four touchdowns.

He did all of his damage in the first half and didn't play in the second half. Millikan led 30-0 against the short-handed Jaguars (2-8, 0-6) going into halftime.

Millikan head coach Romeo Pellum spoke highly about Mialovski, saying he believes he's one of the best quarterbacks of his class in the Long Beach area.

“He's great. If you look from Game 1 to now, you look at his stats, he's a really good quarterback,” Pellum said.

“He's one of, if not the best quarterback in our area, especially in his class. He's the best quarterback around here, and it's not even close.

“I think people know that and people have to game plan for him, because if not, he's just going to pick you apart.”

Mialovski's ability to spread the ball around and use many of his speedy, athletic receivers has made the Rams a matchup nightmare for many teams this season, and Friday was no different. Five receivers scored the team's six touchdowns.

Loyall Mouzon had two receptions for 103 yards, including a 66-yard catch-and-run touchdown. Charles Broughton had four catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter, and running back Kyle Parker had two receptions for 43 yards and a 4-yard touchdown.

Mialovski spoke about the importance of getting his receivers involved throughout the game.

“We knew who we were playing, so I just wanted to get the ball out to my guy, all of them, just spreading the ball out to my guys,” Mialovski said.

“The mindset was to come out here and get better as a team and get the ball out to all the guys on the field.”

Another one of those guys was perhaps his No. 1 target, senior receiver Ryan Pellum, who had two catches for 50 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown, and a brilliant 71-yard punt return touchdown in the first quarter that set the tone for the game.

Ryan Pellum spoke about playing with Mialovski and the connection they've developed on the field.

“It's been great playing with him,” Ryan Pellum said. “We got the connections as you can see. The chemistry is good; in practice, we're working, so it's good.”

With the regular season now in the rear-view mirror, Millikan's focus shifts to the playoffs. It is hoping to make a deep run through the CIF Southern Section.

“We just have to focus on us, and keep it about us,” Romeo Pellum said about his team's playoff expectations. “No matter who we play, what division we're in, it's about us. We just have to make sure that we're ready to go no matter what.”

Cabrillo's difficult season came to an end.

Senior receiver Rodney Cheathum scored a touchdown on a 42-yard pass reception late in the fourth quarter.
