Top-ranked Georgia routs rival Florida

Carson Beck threw two touchdown passes, Daijun Edwards ran for two scores and No. 1 Georgia dominated visiting Florida 43-20 Saturday to extend its winning streak to 25.

The two-time defending national champion Bulldogs (8-0, 5-0 SEC) have won three in a row and six of seven in the rivalry known as “The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.”

Georgia scored on its first four possession­s and stuffed the Gators (5-3, 3-2) early and often.

Beck completed 19 of 28 passes for 315 yards.

Ladd McConkey had six receptions for 135 yards and a score, helping fill the void left by injured star Brock Bowers (ankle).

Florida's Graham Mertz ran for a touchdown late and threw for 230 yards and two scores, including a 25-yarder to Tre Wilson on the opening drive. But the Gators managed just a yard on their next 18 plays, which included two turnovers and four sacks.

NO. 3 OHIO STATE 24, WISCONSIN 10 ❯❯ Marvin Harrison Jr. caught two touchdown passes from Kyle McCord, TreyVeon Henderson rushed for 162 yards and a TD, and the visiting Buckeyes beat the Badgers.

Wisconsin (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) played the second half without star running back Braelon Allen or wide receiver Chimere Dike due to leg injuries.

After Ohio State (8-0, 5-0) squandered an early 10-0 lead, Harrison had a tiebreakin­g 19-yard touchdown reception with 7:14 left in the third quarter. He also ran a shallow cross and turned it into a 16-yard TD in the second quarter.

NO. 4 FLORIDA STATE 41, WAKE FOREST 16 ❯❯ Keon Coleman made two touchdown catches and Trey Benson took a short pass and broke loose for an 80yard score to help the unbeaten Seminoles roll past the host Demon Deacons.

Jordan Travis threw for 359 yards and three scores to go with a rushing TD for FSU (8-0, 6-0 ACC), which held Wake Forest (4-4, 1-4) to just 75 firsthalf yards and 210 for the game.

NO. 7 TEXAS 35, BYU 6 ❯❯ Maalik Murphy threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as starting quarterbac­k for the host Longhorns in a win over the Cougars.

Murphy, a redshirt freshman, replaced Quinn Ewers, who was sidelined with an injury to his throwing shoulder sustained a week earlier at Houston.

Xavier Worthy opened the scoring by returning a punt 74 yards for a touchdown for Texas (7-1, 4-1 Big 12).

Quarterbac­k Kedon Slovis had a rough day for BYU (5-3, 2-3), throwing two intercepti­ons and losing a fumble. All three of the turnovers led to Texas touchdowns.

NO. 10 PENN STATE 33, INDIANA 24 ❯❯ Drew Allar threw three TD passes, including a 57-yarder to KeAndre Lambert-Smith with 1:46 to play, and the Nittany Lions defense forced a late safety and beat the visiting Hoosiers (2-6, 0-5 Big Ten).

Allar also hooked up with Khalil Dinkins and Tyler Warren for TDs and Nick Singleton ran for another score for Penn State (7-1, 4-1).

Penn State's sophomore quarterbac­k threw his first career intercepti­on deep in his own end with 5:02 left. That set up Indiana kicker Chris Freeman's tying field goal from 35 yards with 2:58 to play.

NO. 12 MISSISSIPP­I 33, VANDERBILT 7 ❯❯ Jaxson Dart threw for one touchdown and ran for another, and Quinshon Judkins had 17 rushes for 124 yards and two TDs as the Rebels won at home over the Commodores (2-7, 0-5 SEC).

Dart was 19 of 28 for 240 yards as Ole Miss (71, 4-1) finished with 431 yards of total offense.

NO. 14 NOTRE DAME 58, PITTSBURGH 7 ❯❯ Xavier Watts had two of the Fighting Irish's four intercepti­ons and Audric Estime rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns in a home rout over the Panthers (2-6).

Notre Dame (7-2) scored 23 points off five Pitt turnovers — including a fumbled punt that Ramon Henderson recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.

Watts now has six intercepti­ons this season, the most in FBS.

GEORGIA TECH 46, NO. 17 NORTH CAROLINA 42 ❯❯ Haynes King threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Brett Seither with 4:28 remaining and the host Yellowjack­ets handed the Tar Heels a second straight loss.

Overcoming an early two-TD blitz by North Carolina (7-1, 3-2 ACC) and a 10-point deficit in the fourth, Georgia Tech (4-4, 3-2) shredded the Tar Heels defense for 635 yards.

King was 23 of 30 for 287 yards and four touchdowns, two of them to Seither. Dontae Smith rushed for 178 yards and another score.

Coming off a shocking 31-27 home loss to a onewin Virginia team, UNC appeared to be in good shape when Drake Maye hooked up with Doc Chapman on a 35-yard touchdown with 11:13 remaining, pushing its lead to 42-32.

But, just two plays later, Georgia Tech's Dontae Smith broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown.

NO. 18 LOUISVILLE 23, NO. 20 DUKE 0 ❯❯ Jawhar Jordan ran for a career-high 163 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals (7-1, 4-1 ACC) at home over the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-2).
