CUTTING

Prepare a template for G using pattern given.

From cream geo metallic:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Subcut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares.

From cream/gold/black print:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Subcut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares.

From cream butterfly print:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Subcut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares. From black geo metallic: • Cut 1 (55/ 8" by fabric width) strip. Subcut strip into 6 G2 triangles using the G template referring to Figure 1. From black butterfly print: • Cut 1 (55/ 8" by fabric width) strip. Subcut strip into 4 G3 triangles using the G template referring again to Figure 1. From cream-with-gold specks: • Cut 10 (11/4" by fabric width) strips. Subcut strips into 6 (11/4" x 291/2") F strips

and 12 (11/4" x 13") D strips. From black/cream/gold vertical stripe: • Cut 8 (21/4" by fabric width) binding strips. From black-with-gold specks: • Cut 1 (51/4" by fabric width) strip.

Subcut strip into 6 (51/4") B squares. • Cut 1 (261/2" by fabric width) strip. Subcut strip into 10 (2" x 261/2") I strips

and 18 (21/ 8" x 13") C strips. • Cut 1 (291/2" by fabric width) strip. Subcut strip into 12 (21/ 8" x 291/2") E strips and 6 (21/ 8" x 13") C strips (24 C strips total). • Cut 8 (3" by fabric width) J/K strips. From cream/black/gold vertical stripe: • Cut 2 (55/ 8" by fabric width) strips. Subcut strips into 10 G1 triangles using the G template and referring again to Figure 1. • Cut 20 (43/4" by fabric width) strips. Subcut strips into 20 (43/4" x 261/2")

H strips.

COMPLETING THE BIG BOW TIE BLOCKS

1. To complete one Big Bow Tie block, select two each G1 and G2 triangles. 2. Sew a G1 triangle to a G2 triangle along one short side to make a G triangle unit as shown in Figure 2; press. Repeat to make a second unit.
