CUT­TING

Pre­pare a tem­plate for G us­ing pat­tern given.

From cream geo metal­lic:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Sub­cut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares.

From cream/gold/black print:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Sub­cut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares.

From cream but­ter­fly print:

• Cut 1 (51/4" x 20") strip. Sub­cut strip into 2 (51/4") A squares. From black geo metal­lic: • Cut 1 (55/ 8" by fab­ric width) strip. Sub­cut strip into 6 G2 tri­an­gles us­ing the G tem­plate re­fer­ring to Fig­ure 1. From black but­ter­fly print: • Cut 1 (55/ 8" by fab­ric width) strip. Sub­cut strip into 4 G3 tri­an­gles us­ing the G tem­plate re­fer­ring again to Fig­ure 1. From cream-with-gold specks: • Cut 10 (11/4" by fab­ric width) strips. Sub­cut strips into 6 (11/4" x 291/2") F strips

and 12 (11/4" x 13") D strips. From black/cream/gold ver­ti­cal stripe: • Cut 8 (21/4" by fab­ric width) bind­ing strips. From black-with-gold specks: • Cut 1 (51/4" by fab­ric width) strip.

Sub­cut strip into 6 (51/4") B squares. • Cut 1 (261/2" by fab­ric width) strip. Sub­cut strip into 10 (2" x 261/2") I strips

and 18 (21/ 8" x 13") C strips. • Cut 1 (291/2" by fab­ric width) strip. Sub­cut strip into 12 (21/ 8" x 291/2") E strips and 6 (21/ 8" x 13") C strips (24 C strips to­tal). • Cut 8 (3" by fab­ric width) J/K strips. From cream/black/gold ver­ti­cal stripe: • Cut 2 (55/ 8" by fab­ric width) strips. Sub­cut strips into 10 G1 tri­an­gles us­ing the G tem­plate and re­fer­ring again to Fig­ure 1. • Cut 20 (43/4" by fab­ric width) strips. Sub­cut strips into 20 (43/4" x 261/2")

H strips.

COM­PLET­ING THE BIG BOW TIE BLOCKS

1. To com­plete one Big Bow Tie block, se­lect two each G1 and G2 tri­an­gles. 2. Sew a G1 tri­an­gle to a G2 tri­an­gle along one short side to make a G tri­an­gle unit as shown in Fig­ure 2; press. Re­peat to make a sec­ond unit.
