Japan’s Consulate General Facilitate­s Donations for COVID-19 Response

LOS ANGELES — Japan’s consulate general in Los Angeles has coordinate­d the donation of 10,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 1,000 face shields from a team of Japanese corporate entities for the Port of Los Angeles and Logistics Victory Los Angeles, or LoVLA.

The donors include YS Media Agency, the Japan External Trade Organizati­on Los Angeles, Nippon Express and Toyota Motor North America. The donated items will become available for distributi­on through the LoVLA campaign, establishe­d by Mayor Eric Garcetti as a resource linking hospitals and health care agencies with much-needed personal protective equipment.

The items will be sent to area hospitals, medical facilities and frontline workforces.
