Councilman Tim McOsker has noted his concerns about the air quality and traffic impacts the Vincent Thomas Bridge Deck Replacement Project will bring to the residents of Wilmington and throughout the Harbor Area. As a result the councilman announced that CalTrans has accepted a number of his requests, including: Extending the public comment period to July 10; Establishing a project-specific community advisory committee to provide feedback for the project throughout the process.
To submit comments or express interest in joining the advisory committee, email caltransvtb@virtualeventroom.net. Use the subject line - VTB Deck Replacement Project.
CD15 will continue to advocate for mitigation funding to be used by the city for expanded community outreach, road repairs, and a comprehensive construction impact program throughout the communities that will be burdened with additional truck and car volumes.
