Rappahannock County Planning Commission meets 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 19) at the courthouse. Agenda includes Pazmino Tourist Home; two-year review of special-use permit granted to Beth Hall to operate a B&B in 2013; presentation on Culpeper Geographic Information System (GIS) with Pam Schiermeyer, Culpeper GIS coordinator.

Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) holds a board meeting at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at its main office (15361 Bradford Rd., Culpeper) to consider and act upon a proposed refinancing of RRCS property at 15361 Bradford Road. Piedmont Softball Association is now accepting registrations for all area girls ( born 1996-2009) and skill levels interested in its fast-pitch programs this fall. Registration is $40 for those who did not play with PSA this past spring ($5 discount for each additional player from the same household). The Blue Ridge Chorale, a community chorus serving Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties, begins its fall/ winter season soon. The adult chorus' first rehearsal, under the direction of Bob Burnett, is 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at Open Door Baptist Church (754 Germanna Hwy., Culpeper). The first rehearsal for the youth chorus, under Cathy ter Weele's direction, is 5:45 p.m. Sept. 7 at Open Door Baptist. Non-auditioned and open to all who love to sing. The Madison Choral Society invites you to join in weekly 7 p.m. rehearsals beginning Monday, Aug. 31 at Madison United Methodist Church (505 S. Main St.). No Labor Day rehearsal. Culpeper NAACP hosts a bus ride to the Million Man March 20th Anniversary to Washington D.C. on Saturday, Oct. 10 (refreshments will be served). Tickets are $35; deadline to sign up is Sept. 17. Bus leaves Culpeper Library at 6:30 a.m. and departs D.C. at 5 p.m., with a stop to eat on the way home and arriving in Culpeper at about 9:30 p.m. For more, visit naacpculpeper.com.

Blue Ridge Singers seek vocalists interested in performing fun and challenging repertoire. Based in Front Royal, the BRS rehearses Tuesday evenings and presents in three counties.
