The Aug. 10 Washington Town Council meeting has been continued to Monday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at town hall, for a joint work session with the Planning Commission on a possible water and sewer rate increase.

The Blue Ridge Chorale, a community chorus serving Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahanno­ck counties, begins its fall/winter season soon. The adult chorus' first rehearsal, under the direction of Bob Burnett, is 6:30 p.m. Monday (Aug. 24) at Open Door Baptist Church (754 Germanna Hwy., Culpeper). Rappahanno­ck Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) holds a board meeting at 11 a.m. Aug. 25 at its main office (15361 Bradford Rd., Culpeper) to consider and act upon a proposed refinancin­g of RRCS property at 15361 Bradford Road. Warrenton Chorale, 341 Church Street, is continuing to recruit members for its youth chorale. They welcome singers aged 9 and up to join them for a wonderful program of uplifting and joyful music for the season. Culpeper NAACP hosts a bus ride to the Million Man March 20th Anniversar­y to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Oct. 10 (refreshmen­ts will be served). Tickets are $35; deadline to sign up is Sept. 17.
