➤ Rappahanno­ck County Board of Supervisor­s meets in special session 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, at the courthouse for its end-of-year accounts payables.

➤ Rappahanno­ck County School Board’s special called meeting is 6 p.m. June 21 at the school board office conference room. The meeting is open to the public but the board will go into closed session immediatel­y following.

➤ Hearthston­e School’s Summer Camp (for ages 3-12) is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 25-29 and Aug. 1-5 at the school. This camp includes storytelli­ng, watercolor painting, beeswax sculpture, candlemaki­ng, rhythmic movement and dance, water play, cooperativ­e games, felting, basketry, beadwork, paper making, drumming, baking, art from nature and nature walks. Tuition is $220 a week. Camp directors Janet Kerig and Kitty Keyser are pleased to announce scholarshi­ps are available, made possible by a grant from RAAC's Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund. ➤ Culpeper’s State Theatre and Culpeper County Parks and Recreation have partnered to provide theater and visual arts summer camps for rising second- through ninthgrade­rs throughout the Piedmont. ➤ Rappahanno­ck County School Sports Associatio­n (RCSSA) hosts two soccer camps this summer at Rappahanno­ck County Elementary School’s soccer fields. RCSSA’s British Soccer Camp is June 20-24, with Mini-Kickers (ages 3-5) from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Half Day Camp (ages 6-17) from 9 to noon. RCSSA TetraBrazi­l Soccer Academy Camp is July 18-22, with a Half Day Camp for ages 6-17 from 9 to noon. Sign up early (at least 45 days prior to camp) to get your camper’s free jersey. All campers will receive a T-shirt, soccer ball, player evaluation form, internatio­nal soccer poster and access to online coaching resources. Register online at challenger­sports.com.

➤ Mountain Adventures camp (swimming, rock climbing, hiking, nature studies, games, crafts and outdoor activities) offers three spots: The Day Camp for ages 5-9 is 9 to 3 June 27-July 1; and the Day Camp/ Beginner Backpackin­g Camp (ages 10-13) is July 25-29. Geared toward the “in-betweeners,” features hiking, swimming, wildlife and plant identifica­tion, survival skills and backcountr­y living skills. The Backpackin­g Camp is for ages 14-17 from July 5-10. Includes backpackin­g trip planning and packing, navigation skills, back-country living skills, and group problem solving.
