Reverend Ronald L. Wiley
Franklin- Reverend Ronald Lee Wiley, 79, passed away September 17, 2016 at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital. He was born in Alexandria, VA to the late H. Granville Wiley and Dorothy J. Wiley. He was also predeceased by a brother, Harlan G. Wiley, III. He grew up in Vienna, VA and was a proud graduate of Fairfax High School Class of 1955. He graduated from Northwestern College, Minneapolis, MN in 1969 and earned a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, MN in 1969.
Ronald served the ministry in Cushing, MN and Coon Rapids, MN. He also served churches in Virginia; Reynolds Memorial and F.T. Baptist, Sperryville as well as Mt. Gilead, Goochland and Colossee Baptist, Windsor.
While in Sperryville he was active with the Rescue Squad and Mental Health Association. He also served on the State of Virginia Mental Health Board. He was active in Windsor Ruritan Club and always active within his church community.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Elaine, daughter, Ronda Wiley of Charlottesville, VA, their sons, Stephen (Cheryl), and Marc (Donna) and grandchildren Kelly, Katherine, Hannah, Stuart and Bradley all of Richmond, VA his sister, Judith Horton (Henry) and cousins Daria Barnes and Sharon Ronald.
A funeral service was held at 11AM Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Dr. Roger Crump officiating. Burial was at 3PM at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Goochland. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and suggest that memorial donations be made to Sycamore Baptist Church or the Franklin YMCA. www. wrightfuneralhome.org
