➤ The Washington Planning Commission hosts two public forums this Saturday afternoon (Oct. 1) and Monday evening (Oct. 3), seeking ideas and feedback from town and county residents as the town revises its comprehens­ive plan, which lays out a strategic vision for the town’s future. At the town hall forums — 2 p.m. Saturday, 7 p.m. Monday — Milton Herd, an expert in town planning, will facilitate the discussion. “This is the best time for community members to get involved in helping to form a vision for the town and to have a say about the town’s future direction,” said Fred Catlin, who was this Monday elected the new chair of the planning commission.
