Lucy Oliver Foster, 89, of Flint Hill, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center. Loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and friend, Mrs. Foster was born on December 20, 1927 in Warren County, Virginia to Marion R. and Ida Revells Oliver. She retired after over 35 years of service from Avtex Fibers in Front Royal, Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles H. Foster; her daughters, Sandra Hawkins (Donnie) of Strasburg, Virginia, Charlotte Turnmeyer and Sharon Dodson (Roger) both of Flint Hill; four grandchild­ren, Scott Turnmeyer (Pam) of Front Royal, Barry Turnmeyer (Crystal) of Strasburg, Allyson Rigel (Eric) of Charleston, South Carolina and Jacob Dodson (Samantha) of Flint Hill; three great grandchild­ren whom she adored, Dakoda, Britlyn and Kadence Turnmeyer; two sisters, Shirley Braithwait­e of Cross Junction, Virginia and Eleanor Knight of Berryville, Virginia and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James C. Oliver, Marion “Buck” Oliver, Charles “Wiggy” Oliver, two sisters, Helen Linaburg and Betty Lowery, and son-in-law and great grandson. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and a member of the Flint Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. The family received friends on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Flint Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Sara Keeling officiatin­g. Burial followed in Flint Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer­s were Scott Turnmeyer, Barry Turnmeyer and Jacob Dodson. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Flint Hill United Methodist Church at P.O.
