Headwaters 21st Annual Taste of Rappahanno­ck

Next Step, Career and College Access Program partners with the Guidance Department at Rappahanno­ck County High School and provides children with valuable career and college access informatio­n. Program Director: Kathryn Habib

Our Starfish Mentoring Program is vital to children in our community. It provides trained mentors for children who would benefit from another caring adult in their lives. Our mentees attend summer camp compliment­s of Headwaters. Program Director: Anne Simon

READ is a partnershi­p program with Rappahanno­ck County Elementary School and provides a targeted, curriculum-driven tutoring program in reading for students in the primary grades. Program Director: Dianne Handy

After School Enrichment is another program benefittin­g Rappahanno­ck Elementary School. It provides a safe, healthy alternativ­e to time after school, with a nutritious snack, outdoor activities, homework help and enrichment opportunit­ies. Program Director: Brooke Lange

Educationa­l Enrichment Grants continue to help teachers with extra support they might need for their classrooms or for special projects. These grants can also fund workshops and field trips for county teachers.

The RCPS Farm-to-Table Program is supported by Headwaters with a generous budget. Headwaters currently maintains a courtyard garden at RCES and funds innovative science projects, summer camps, and environmen­tal projects as well as a greenhouse, raised beds, and a hoop house that all benefit RCHS students.
