“FIVE OVER FIFTY”: Aging Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving older adults and their caregivers, announces the recipients of the sixth annual “Five Over Fifty” awards for 2019. This year Aging Together will recognize Barney O’Meara of Rappahannock; Cathy Zielinski of Culpeper County; Jeff Flynn of Orange; Max Lacy of Madison; and Doug Larson of Fauquier. KID PAN ALLEY MUSICAL: The new Kid Pan Alley musical, The Talented Clementine, comes to
the Little Washington Theatre for a performance at 2 p.m. It's based on the popular Clementine series of children's books written by Sara Pennypacker. Paul Reisler, Kid Pan Alley’s artistic director, wrote the script, lyrics, and music. Directed by Susan Keady, Encore Stage will be performing the musical in Rappahannock after a 2-week run in Arlington. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children at www.bit.ly/clem-lw. Though it is for children, people of all ages will enjoy this charming and hilarious musical. DARK SKIES: The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection and the Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority are planning to hold their next “dark sky” event at the Rappahannock County “Dark Sky” Park on Rt. 211, across from Little Washington, starting at 7:30 p.m. Our county-resident astro-photographer Joyce Harman will speak about her recent visit to a Dark Sky Park in Utah and bring her spotting scope to allow people to take their own pictures of the full moon with their smartphones. NOVAC member Milt Roney will share a presentation on lunar features and other objects visible in the full moon sky. Bring your smartphone and your telescope if you have one. Everyone is invited.
