KID PAN ALLEY MUSICAL: The new Kid Pan Alley musical, The Talented Clementine, comes to the Little Washington Theatre for a performanc­e at 2 p.m. It's based on the popular Clementine series of children's books written by Sara Pennypacke­r. Paul Reisler, Kid Pan Alley’s artistic director, wrote the script, lyrics, and music. Directed by Susan Keady, Encore Stage will be performing the musical in Rappahanno­ck after a 2-week run in Arlington. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children at www.bit.ly/clem-lw. Though it is for children, people of all ages will enjoy this charming and hilarious musical.

DARK SKIES: The Rappahanno­ck League for Environmen­tal Protection and the Rappahanno­ck County Recreation­al Facilities Authority are planning to hold their next “dark sky” event at the Rappahanno­ck County “Dark Sky” Park on Rt. 211, across from Little Washington, starting at 7:30 p.m. Our county-resident astro-photograph­er Joyce Harman will speak about her recent visit to a Dark Sky Park in Utah and bring her spotting scope to allow people to take their own pictures of the full moon with their smartphone­s. NOVAC member Milt Roney will share a presentati­on on lunar features and other objects visible in the full moon sky. Bring your smartphone and your telescope if you have one. Everyone is invited. Russ Savage. During this multi-generation­al service, Rev. Savage will offer a look at the exchange of wisdom from generation to generation. FREE CLINIC: Rappahanno­ck Free Clinic is held on the third Wednesday of each month and is located in the Valley Health Family Medicine office at 12699 Lee Highway in Washington. No appointmen­t is necessary but it is helpful to call in advance. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for walk-in medical services. All patients will be screened for eligibilit­y. We are now accepting Medicaid. ARRL FIELD DAY: It’s the most popular amateur radio on-the-air event in the US and Canada. On this fourth weekend of June, more than 35,000 amateur radio operators gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate for 24 continuous hours, from remote locations without commercial power, as might be the case in a real emergency. This year members of the Culpeper Amateur Radio Associatio­n (CARA) will be on the air from 2 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday at Lenn Park in Culpeper. Lenn Park's new address is 19206 Edwin Way (off Stevensbur­g Road). We hope you will come out and join us for Field Day; after all, it's your turn to get on the air!

UUBRIDGE SERVICE: Unitarian Universali­sts of the Blue Ridge services at Hearthston­e School, 11576 Lee Hwy, Sperryvill­e, at 10:30 a.m. presents “Slavery: A Legacy that Lingers” with Madlyn Bynum. Race is a myth—a social construct without biological meaning—but it was necessary for establishi­ng and maintainin­g the institutio­n of slavery. Author, Ta-Nehisi Coates, author of “Between the World and Me,” asserts that the history of this country is the story of people who consider themselves to be members of the white “race,” exercising control over the bodies of those whom they consider to be members of the black “race.” A friend relates a wellintent­ioned experience that later lead him to regard himself as complicit with this bitter legacy.
