BEES, BUTTERFLIE­S AND BLOOMS: The Piedmont Environmen­tal Council hosts a walk and talk “on all things pollinator” at Jones Nature Preserve, 2 to 4 p.m., led by PEC staff and landowner Bruce Jones. The walk, about a mile along mowed trails, showcases summer flowers, bees, butterflie­s, birds and habitat restoratio­n projects at the preserve. Be prepared to walk and stand for periods of time in the summer heat, and wear boots, long pants and a hat, and bring water; leave dogs at home. AGING GRACEFULLY IN RAPPAHANNO­CK: Businesses of Rappahanno­ck and AARP Foundation are proud to present, “Aging Gracefully In Rappahanno­ck County — The Importance Of Remaining Socially Connected,” an AARPled presentati­on focusing on the struggles and solutions facing an aging population in rural areas with special attention paid to isolation issues. This interactiv­e event will include presentati­on with factual evidence based on years of regional studies by AARP. Guests will have a chance to share their input, experience­s, and to suggest ideas or programs to address these issues via a Q&A at the end of the presentati­on. The event is graciously hosted by Narmada Winery, 43 Narmada Lane, Amissville, at 7 p.m. Attendance is free but space is limited.
