BEES, BUTTERFLIES AND BLOOMS: The Piedmont Environmental Council hosts a walk and talk “on all things pollinator” at Jones Nature Preserve, 2 to 4 p.m., led by PEC staff and landowner Bruce Jones. The walk, about a mile along mowed trails, showcases summer flowers, bees, butterflies, birds and habitat restoration projects at the preserve. Be prepared to walk and stand for periods of time in the summer heat, and wear boots, long pants and a hat, and bring water; leave dogs at home. AGING GRACEFULLY IN RAPPAHANNOCK: Businesses of Rappahannock and AARP Foundation are proud to present, “Aging Gracefully In Rappahannock County — The Importance Of Remaining Socially Connected,” an AARPled presentation focusing on the struggles and solutions facing an aging population in rural areas with special attention paid to isolation issues. This interactive event will include presentation with factual evidence based on years of regional studies by AARP. Guests will have a chance to share their input, experiences, and to suggest ideas or programs to address these issues via a Q&A at the end of the presentation. The event is graciously hosted by Narmada Winery, 43 Narmada Lane, Amissville, at 7 p.m. Attendance is free but space is limited.
