The Rappahannock County
Democratic Committee meets on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Washington Town Hall, 485 Gay Street, Washington. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and conversation. Meeting starts at 10 a.m. All are welcome!
The Washington Town Council meets Monday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. Agenda highlights include a public hearing on a resolution on new Town permit fees, possible appointment of a new Planning Commission member and new ARB member, a street light update, consideration and possible adoption of a resolution welcoming requests for Boundary Line Adjustments, consideration of an Atrium Construction proposal for electrical repairs at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and a possible closed session in accordance with the provisions of Sec 2.2.-3711 A.1 to discuss and consider prospective named candidates for employment as Town Clerk, and in open session authorization of employment of a Town Clerk.
The Rappahannock County School
Board meeting will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m. The location of the meeting has been changed from the high school band room to the elementary school gym.
The Rappahannock Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, Aug 21, at the Washington firehouse. The speaker will be Thomas Baughn, president of the Fauquier/Rappahannock County Master Gardeners. Baughn will speak about the benefits of using rain barrels for gardening purposes. The Garden Club meets at 1:30, the program will start at 2 p.m. The public is welcome.
Rappahannock County Soccer

The Sperryville Community
Foundation is hosting a Sperryville community meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Stonewall Abbey, 44 Main Street on Sperryville’s Historic Main Street. The purpose of the meeting is for community residents to share ideas on how to achieve traffic calming and improve pedestrian safety in the village of Sperryville.
Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional
Commission will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Regional Commission offices in Culpeper.

Lucy Russo will be facilitating a
monthly meeting of writers who want to learn about new publishing information. All meetings are in the conference room at the Culpeper County Library. The evening meetings are the second Monday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. and the morning meetings are on the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. All are welcome to attend.
