SATURDAY, AUGUST 10

-

BOOK TALK: Join us from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Before & After, for a talk, discussion and slide show with George Mason, author of the trilogy about "In the Land of Rob." This event is part of the Artisan's Trail Second Saturday. In his three books (“The Tale of a Woods Colt,” “The Call of the Whipoorwill,” and “The Crags of Old Rag”), Mason brings back to life Rob Nickersen, who was born in the Sperryville area in the 1870s and lived 94 years. This series of books shares in incredible detail the life of a mountain man who lived off the land and moonshining, through two world wars and the creation of the park, and whose life reflects many of the ideals we have come to love of this area. All three books are currently available for sale at Before & After and Mr. Mason has agreed to sign them on Aug. 10. Wine, beer, tea and other beverages will be for sale during the evening. For information, contact Kerry Sutten at Before & After at 540987-8392 or visit us on Facebook at #before and after sperry ville.
