Headwaters’ strategic plan focuses on future
After a year of conducting research, reviewing existing programs, and writing and revising four core goals for the future, the Board of Directors of Rappahannock's Headwaters Foundation recently approved the organization's 2020-2025 Strategic Plan at its November meeting.
The goals are posted at www. headwatersfdn.org
Reflecting information gathered from extensive interviews with students, teachers, administrators, parents, elected officials, and other key stakeholders in the community, the plan focuses on ways to strengthen and expand programs that support education in the county, with a renewed emphasis on increasing communication with the community and promoting greater collaboration with other organizations working to further similar goals.
For more than twenty years, Headwaters has worked in various ways to encourage educational excellence among students, teachers and staff in Rappahannock County.
The coming year will be an especially important one, as new officers take the helm in January to begin implementing the plan.
The Board will also be conducting a job search for Headwaters' next executive director to replace outgoing executive director, Kevin Brandriff, whose work on behalf of Headwaters over the past four years — especially his efforts to strengthen relationships with RCPS — is much appreciated.
As Headwaters prepares to move into this period of significant transition, the Board looks forward to engaging with the community more fully, inviting and encouraging others to share its commitment to its mission "to foster educational excellence in Rappahannock County by cultivating the cooperative spirit and resources of the whole community to benefit students."
