RAAC’S THIRD ANNUAL GRANT WORKSHOP: Members of the Mitchell Arts Fund committee will go over the 2020 grant applicatio­n new guidelines and will answer questions about submitting a proposal from 10 a.m. to noon at the Rappahanno­ck County Library, Washington. All past and prospectiv­e applicants are encouraged to attend. New grant applicatio­n and guidelines for 2020 available Dec. 1 on RAAC’s website raac.org. Grant applicatio­ns are due by March 15, with notificati­on of awards by the end of May. Since 2012, RAAC has awarded $209,000 to 56 Rappahanno­ck artists and organizati­ons — inspiring art and building community.

SCRABBLE SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE: The public is invited to attend the Scrabble School Preservati­on Foundation Open House, 1-3 p.m., to celebrate the holiday season, commemorat­e the 400th Anniversar­y of the first Africans to arrive in America, and the 10th Anniversar­y of the restoratio­n and reopening of Scrabble School.
