Pass the ham...
Iso enjoy reading Richard Brady’s folksy contribution to this paper. I don't know him personally but I feel I do because his writing truly gives the reader a view into his life. I love hearing about days past, interesting antidotes of his life experiences and the occasional recipe. This past week’s submission was no exception, his description of the country ham brought back cherished memories of my own dad frying up the delicious treat, complete with redeye gravy!
I do however take great exception when he uses this platform; which the paper graciously allows him to convey his stories, to deliver underhanded, thinly veiled, cowardly insults to folks whom I believe possess and have demonstrated great character. Now if that isn't talking out of both sides of your mouth, I don't know what is. I believe Mr. [John] Lesinski showed great courage to stand up in front of an angry auditorium and deliver his educated and informed “Nay.” The least Mr. Brady could have done was mention him by name.
Mr. Brady’s account of the BOS meeting is a complete work of fiction. I don't think a meeting which is supposed to provide an opportunity for both sides of an issue to comment can be described as “civil” when those who spoke against the 2nd amendment sanctuary were relentlessly heckled and shouted down by those who were for it.
I call that a mob where ignorance and fear mongering enjoyed its finest hour. A mob, by the way, which consisted of a great number
