CASTLETON WINTER FESTIVAL:

The Castleton Chamber Players, Eric Silberger and Daniel Lelchuk, return with Castleton Festival veteran and opera conductor/pianist Bradley Moore for this weekend’s (Jan. 18-19) Castleton Winter Festival. A very special Saturday Concert Program at 4 p.m. includes a pre-performanc­e talk and a post-performanc­e Q&A. The open Masterclas­s that follows on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. will include three selected cello students from the Shenandoah Conservato­ry. A reception and a participat­ory Q&A conversati­on will be held with the artists, all open to the public. A single ticket purchase ($20/$40) includes the Saturday Concert Program and the Sunday Masterclas­s. Music lovers and musicians are encouraged to attend — and bring their questions!

➜ THE LOOKING GLASS: IX Art Park opens The Looking Glass, a new immersive art space and first of its kind in Virginia — Charlottes­ville, to be exact. The Looking Glass is a much-anticipate­d 3,000-square-foot enchanted forest designed to spark visitors’ imaginatio­ns and childlike sense of wonder. Exhibits form a whimsical wonderland that invite guests to leave their everyday lives at the door and enjoy an otherworld­ly escape, such as traveling through a 50-foot caterpilla­r and interactin­g with a friendly family of gnomes.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children ages 13 and under. Guests book a 60-minute self-guided tour for a specific time. Tickets can be purchased onsite or online at ixartpark.org

➜ WREATH REMOVAL: Culpeper National Cemetery is asking for help in cleaning up over 8,000 holiday wreaths that were placed on its graves during the Wreaths Across America ceremony in December. Dumpsters will be available onsite for wreath disposal, although participan­ts are encouraged to bring gloves and rakes. Please meet at 8 a.m. at the cemetery at 305 US Avenue in Culpeper.
