Rappahannock County Republican Committee
As Chairman of the Rappahannock County Committee of the Republican Party, and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and as recommended and directed by the Committee, I, Terry Dixon, do hereby issue this Call for Mass Meeting to be held beginning at 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the Rappahannock County Court House, 250 Gay Street… or its alternate site, for the purpose of:
1. Electing a Unit Chairman;
2. Electing Members of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee Unit;
3. Electing up to 85 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Republican Party of Virginia’s 2020 Quadrennial Convention (May 1-2) at the Greater Richmond Convocation Center… for the following purposes:
a. Binding Virginia Delegates to the 2020 Republican National Convention [RNC] as to their choice for President…
b. Electing 12 At-Large Delegates (National Delegates) and 12 AtLarge Alternate Delegates (National Alternates) to the [RNC] to be held on August 24-27 [in Charlotte, NC]...
c. Nominating two Electors At-Large to be voted for in the presidential election on Nov. 3, 2020 d. Electing a State Chairman e. Nominating a National Committeeman and National Committeewoman…
Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Rappahannock County is entitled to 17 Delegate Votes.
4. Electing up to 85 Delegates and an equal number of Alternates to the Fifth Congressional District Convention… on April 25, 2020, at Tree of Life Ministries, located at 2812 Greenview Drive, Lynchburg… for the following purposes:
a. Election of 3 National Delegates for the 2020 Republican National Convention [RNC]
b. Election of 3 Alternate National Delegates for the [RNC]...
c. Election of 1 Elector for the 2020 Presidential Election
d. Election of 3 State Central Committee Members
e. Election of District Committee Chairman
f. Election of Republican Nominee for U.S. House…
Each unit is entitled to one (1) Delegate Vote per 250 Republican votes for Governor and President at their last election, so that Rappahannock County is entitled to 17 Delegate Votes.
5. And for the transaction of such other business as may properly come before the Mass Meeting.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
All legal and qualified voters of Rappahannock County… who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
FILING REQUIREMENTS
Candidates standing for election as delegates or alternates to the state or congressional district conventions at said Mass Meeting shall file the appropriate form by mail or in person to Terry Dixon, 11 Palmer Lane, Castleton, Virginia 22716 or by e-mail to terry.dixon@gmail.com, which must be received no later than 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020; postmarks will not govern. Pre-filing for the office of Chairman of the unit committee is also due at that time.
