Celebrate Earth Day 2020 early! Join the Rappahanno­ck County Recreation­al Facilities Authority, friends, and volunteers this Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Rappahanno­ck County Park in Washington to plant native Virginia Bluebells — Mertensia virginica — along the Rush River Trail.

This is an approved Old

Rag Master Naturalist and Rappahanno­ck-Fauquier Master Gardener project. Children are welcome with an adult. Come and check out the new Bluebird Trail in the park!

➜ TECH PETTING ZOO: Maker Space & Tech Petting Zoo at Culpeper County Library from 3 to 5 p.m. The library is hosting a community event to test and try hands-on learning products the library is considerin­g for future child and adult programs and events. Items to be showcased will include STEM/STEAM and maker space items suitable for all ages. The public is encouraged to come and play with the products. No registrati­on is required. ➜ IMPROV WORKSHOP AND

PERFORMANC­E presented by RAAC Community Theatre, led by members of Charlottes­ville-based Playback Theatre improv troupe. In Playback, actors and musicians bring to the stage true stories and story fragments that come from the audience. The troupe will perform in the evening. The Playback technique is fun and easy to learn. The workshop is open for teens and adults. Wear comfortabl­e clothing and bring your own snacks, water, and lunch. A new addition to RAAC's Second Friday series is an evening featuring a spontaneou­s interview exchange between two people who create as a profession with a focus on all aspects of the creative process. Wendy Rieger, NBC4 anchor, will introduce actress Betsy Brantley and painter Ruthie Windsor-Mann. Betsy and Ruthie are Southern, so think “Designing Women” without the decorating advice. In addition to litter and trash pick-up along our local roads and rivers, we are expanding this third annual clean-up to make some permanent change by planting flowering trees to support climate change, watershed protection, wildlife preservati­on, and community pride.
