Fly high the Stars and Stripes

- Jan Clatterbuck jan@rappnews.com; 675-3338

People across the United States will celebrate Flag Day on Sunday, June 14 to honor the United States ag and to commemorate the ag’s adoption.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson o cially established Flag Day. Etiquette calls for American ags to be illuminated by sunlight or another light source while on display. When

ags are taken down from their poles, care must be taken to keep them from touching the ground.

Fly your ag high and be proud of it and count your blessings for our freedom!

CCLC NEWS

June 13 was slated to be the date for the Child Care Learning Center 7th annual Garden Party to raise funds for childcare and preschool tuition for children returning to school in August-and summer camp scholarships. Sadly, the CCLC made the di cult decision to cancel for this year.

The party theme surrounded book, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” the developmental growth of a caterpillar that turns into a beautiful butter y — a wonderful analogy for the good work we do at CCLC.

Now, local residents are invited instead to CCLC's Stay-at-Home Garden Party 2020. You choose the date and time. Consider a contribution in the amount you may have given at the garden party Any amount will ease the nancial burden during this di cult recovery.
