Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) has set its annual meeting for August 19, held “remotely, with no in-person participation” because of COVID-19.
During the meeting, three members will be elected to REC’s Board of Directors.
Rappahannock County is elding one candidate, Seth Heald, who thinks REC board members are overpaid and will work to reduce the pay to keep power bills lower. He also wants to reduce bills through e ciency and roo op solar programs, while bringing a ordable broadband internet to the county (learn more at RepowerREC. com or email Seth4RECboard@gmail. com).
County residents will have the option to participate in the meeting remotely online or send in their proxy designation forms prior to the meeting.
Residents can cast their vote at myrec.smarthub.coop or else complete and mail in the proxy/ballot card when it arrives by U.S. Mail.
