Fauquier Hospital allowing some visitors

-

On Monday, Fauquier Health announced that they will relax the zero-visitor policy implemented before the holidays. The hospital is permitting limited visitation starting this week.

The decision comes a er the recent trends reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) show transmission rates are decreasing across the state.

Fauquier Hospital is limiting entry to the facility to only those that are essential for the patient’s physical or emotional wellbeing and care. The hospital continues to encourage patients to use alternative methods, such as phone calls and video conferencing, for communications with individuals outside the hospital.

All visitors to the facility will be subject to a temperature check and health screening. Anyone presenting with a fever over 100 degrees or symptoms of COVID-19, including chills, cough or di culty breathing will be turned away.

Fauquier Health also announced that Bistro on the Hill is now serving outside patrons for takeout only. Anyone coming into the bistro for a to-go meal between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. will be required to enter through the main lobby to undergo the health screening and will be asked to exit the facility upon completing their purchase.

Fauquier Health reminds the public to continue doing their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing, avoiding large gatherings, washing their hands regularly and wearing masks or face coverings while in public.
