Losi’s hit 1/5 scaler quiets down and powers up with batteries on board

Losi blew people’s minds when they released their first 1/5-scale vehicle five years ago. Since then they’ve released a few more 1/5-scale models, including the Desert Buggy XL and MTXL Monster Truck. Now, in a first for the long-time RC company, Losi is going electric with a 1/5 scale machine. The Desert Buggy XL-E carries over most of its parts from the gas-burning version, but has been optimized for brushless and Lipo power. Features include an aluminum center diff case, powerful steering servo with an aluminum arm, 800KV brushless motor, and a flip-up roll cage for easy access. I’ve had a lot of fun with the gas-powered 1/5-scale vehicles from Losi, and I couldn’t wait to see what electric power would do for the experience.
