Keep Your Cool

Racing is tense. We get it. And it can be frustrating when you make a mistake—or if someone else does—and it costs you time.

Getting mad doesn’t fix it. It’s unpleasant for the people around you, and it’s no fun for you. But back to winning races: Mad is slow. Expect to make twice as many mistakes when driving angry, and as each new mistake makes you angrier, you’re going to make even more mistakes. Take a breath. You’re racing toy cars for bragging rights, the stakes couldn’t be lower. Be cool, keep a level head, and just concentrate on putting down consistent laps.

“That guy yelling looks really cool,” said no one ever.
