The Primal RC Raminator sure is a mind-blowingly fun truck. It really is the closest thing to driving a full-size monster truck, a claim I wouldn’t make for any other truck on the market today. Materials and manufacturing are excellent throughout, and the truck is impressive in a way that transcends a top speed number. The sense of mass and heft and real-monster-truckness is hard to put into words. But is it worth $2,899? That depends mostly on how easily you can part with three grand. Guys who blow that much every weekend on full-size racing or some other rich-guy hobby probably think it’s a bargain (and already ordered theirs—the first shipment sold out). On the other hand, if you’re thinking, “that’s way too much for an RC truck, no matter how big it is,” clearly the Raminator isn’t for you. It’s not going to be for most people. Neither is a Ferrari.
