BUIL THE ULTIMATE RUSTLER 4X4

-

What is your favorite aspect of the radio control hobby? Are you a mechanically inclined builder that revels in the handson experience of building and tinkering? Or do you prefer the convenience of ready to run kits so you can get driving quicker? Are you a speed demon that is excited about breaking speed barriers or do you like to go slow and crawl over challenging obstacles? The hobby is impressively varied, I’m sure you can name a few things that you love about it.

One thing that I love about the RC hobby is the customization aspect of it. Although you may start out with the same kit as your friends, it always seems that no one kit is finished exactly the same. It’s this variety, along with technological advances, that keep RC vehicles so interesting to me.

In this issue of RCCA, we get to see a couple of customized builds including the Falken Tire drift Camaro that’s featured on the cover. We discovered the Yokomo-based car and its builder on Instagram and requested to see it up close. The owner, Josh Guess, obliged and what resulted is a deep dive into the car for you to check out in Drift Muscle. We also get to see another project made by our Senior Editor, Kevin Hetmanski. He takes us through his modified Redcat Racing Gen8 crawler in our Special Project department. You won’t want to miss it.

Also in this issue, we build and test out Tamiya’s Lunchbox Mini and look at Lipo battery and charger bundles that can save you some hard-earned money while providing you the power that your RC kit needs.

As you may have noticed, this issue of RCCA is a bit heftier than issues from our recent past. That’s because we’ve bolstered this issue with and additional 16 pages of articles. Yes, RCCA is growing. We are able to deliver quality content to you, due to continued support of readers such as yourself. For that, we thank you. Thanks for joining us as we push forward and continue to bring more improvements to RCCA.

We’re looking for custom builds to feature. If you think your customized build is feature worthy, submit it for consideration into out Reader’s Rides department or tag us on Instagram: @ rccaraction. We’d love to see your vehicle.

Unit next time,

Jerry Tsai Editorial Director
