A VISIT TO DYNAMIC HOBBIES

Towards the back of Dynamic Hobbies, you’ll find an impressively detailed; giant 45foot long O-gauge train diorama that is complete with three trains, a correctly scaled town, townspeople, overpasses, tunnels and more. The diorama is there to stir up the imagination of hobbyists, young and old, and to help plant the seeds of imagination in all those that visit the shop.

Located in Hemet, California, Dynamic Hobbies has been serving their community since 1991. The shop is owned by Bob, a life-long hobbyist that understands what it means to love what he does for a living. He and his staff understand how to support fellow hobbyists by providing top-notch service to their customers. Bob got his start in the RC business in the 80s; that’s when he ran carpet races in an old gym that was located in an EX-YMCA building. He learned a lot during those days and that experience would help him in the future. Later in the decade, he got involved with RC drag racing, which eventually lead him to opening his shop, Dynamic Hobbies.

At a time when brick and mortar hobby shops are getting harder and harder to find, it’s important that hobbyists continue to support their local shops. Bob points out that hobby shops such as his nurture their customers and provide one on one service that can’t be replicated. Many of his customers have become friends over the years and many of the kids that grew up with his shop are now in turn bringing their own kids in. That’s a testament to the type of shop Bob runs.
