Once in a generation you’ll find something suited so perfectly to its role that it’s hard to imagine anything else taking its place. In the world of 2WD off road buggy racing, the first name that comes to mind is Team Associated’s RC10. Since its release back in 1984, the car and its descendants have taken 13 I.F.M.A.R. World Championships, more than any other opposing models combined. That’s an impressive feat indeed.

When it came time for Chris Parker, owner of the buggy you see here, to choose a competitive vehicle to run, it’s not hard to fathom why he chose the latest model in RC10’S respected lineage, the RC10B6.2D Team Kit. Parker is an avid RC enthusiast that works with professional racecar (and truck) driver, Robby Gordon. When Parker isn’t taking on his sales and marketing roles for Gordon’s company, you can find him turning fast laps at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California.

Parker is a product of the 80s, so its only natural that he grew up hitting the track with Team Associated’s original RC10. Following the company’s success with the platform over the years, the RC10B6.2D was an obvious choice for him to pick up when the RC bug came calling. Working alongside Gordon, it’s only natural that Parker is routinely around fast vehicles and plenty of dirt. For Parker, a dirt-borne buggy is the perfect accompaniment to his surroundings.

Luckily for him, he also lives nearby OCRC Raceway, a famed RC dirt track that hosts plenty of high profile races including the Reedy Race of Champions. Parker quickly became a regular at the track after he built his B6.2D for the Stock 17.5 Class, which means that the car’s motor is limited to 17.5 turn. He chose this class because it usually has the most entries at the track. Parker is in it for the challenge and excitement of competition.
