FEATURES

The Iwata Revolution HP CR airbrush comes in a high quality cardboard box and inside is dense foam that is cut out for the airbrush and its accessories. Included with the brush is some lubricant and a small wrench. The Revolution is a gravity feed unit and has a large 7.0 ml paint cup on top. It’s also a double action unit which allows you to control the flow of air separate from the flow of paint. Press the trigger to get air flow and its pressure is set at the compressor while paint flow is controlled by pulling back on the trigger. The more you pull back the more paint comes out. The tip size is .5mm making it great for thicker paints and for covering large areas. According to Iwata it can do fine detail work and spray a pattern up to 1.5-inches wide. The airbrush has an ergonomic design and the entire airbrush is chrome plated to make clean up easier.

TESTING

I paired the Iwata Revolution airbrush up with my Iwata Smart Jet compressor and gathered some Pro-line water based paints for some body painting. I’ve used the Pro-line paint in some airbrushes with smaller tips and although the paint flowed, I needed a little reducer to help it along. The Revolution and its large .5mm tip and the Pro-line paint were a match made in heaven. The paint flowed well out of the brush and that large 1.5-inch wide spray pattern was welcome while spraying paint on the large body that I was using for testing. The cup size is large enough to cover a good amount of area before refilling.
