Eva Cherry
Eva Cherry, age 67, of Sunset Road, Kersey, PA, died June 27, 2022 in Pittsburgh, PA after a brief illness.A daughter of the late George and Mary (Chupa) Cherry, she was born on September 7, 1954 in St. Marys, PA.
Eva was a Physical Education Teacher, Girls' Basketball Coach and Volleyball Coach for Johnsonburg Area Schools for many years. She graduated Johnsonburg Area Schools and received her Bachelor's Degree from Edinboro University.She lived most of her life in Johnsonburg, twenty years in Laurinburg, NC and the past three years in St. Marys/Kersey.She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church; enjoyed trail riding her horses; sharing her cooking and baking with friends and especially loved her dogs.
Eva is survived by: two sisters, Dianna (Nick) Coumos of Pittsburgh and Sylvia “Cindy” (Gary) Carnessali of Johnsonburg; eleven nieces and nephews, Andy, Steph, Tony and Steven Carnessali, Chris and Tonya Simchick, Lynn Buttery, Michael and Marlena Coumos and Kristina and Drew Dorko; ten great-nieces and great-nephews, Makailla, Grace, Olivia, Emma and Geno Carnessali, Sophia and Max Buttery, Niko Coumos and Zachary and Morgan Simchick; and a long-time friend, Cheryl Rinovato of Verona, PA.
Along with her parents, Eva was predeceased by a sister, Georgianna (Rich) Simchick.
As per Eva's wishes, there will be no public visitation and services will be private.
Interment will take place in the Holy Rosary Cemetery of Johnsonburg.

The Ubel Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements.
