RIDGWAY--Some of the proceeds from the 2022 Mountain Fest, organized by the Elk County Wilds Tourism Association (ECWTA), are going right back into the community with the donation of $2,500 towards the 2024 Splash Pad project slated for the Ridgway Community Pool.

"The Splash Pad was one of T.O. Fitch's dreams along with Mountain Fest," said Julee Marzella, ECWTA President, "And this donation will be followed by others, both from us and others in the community towards this great enhancement to the local community pool"

"Members of the community and businesses can also donate to a special fund that is set up by the Ridgway YMCA," said Mary Lynne Bellotti, YMCA Director, "We have a special Splash Pad account that is specifically for the 2024 construction season, as we did not get the DCED (Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development) grant that was expected last year, but we will try for again this year. People who wish to donate can come to the YMCA during our regular business hours."

The ECWTA is excited to watch the construction of the Splash Pad that will be built just across the street from the windows of their offices at 222 Race Street.

The ECWTA is a busy place right now with planning and preparing for the 2023 Mountain Fest, which begins just two weeks from now on March 3 and through March 5 at the former tannery building located at 310 Tanner Street in Ridgway. Over 100 vendors will completely fill the old tannery complex. Continuous live entertainment will be on tap during the entire festival. The hours for the Mountain Fest begin on Friday, March 3, from 11 a.m. through 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. through 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. One price at the door will give admittance for the entire weekend.
