Johnsonburg Community Trust to hold second Casino Night
JOHNSONBURG - The Johnsonburg Community Trust (JCT) will hold their second Casino Night on Saturday, March 23 to continue to raise funds for the ongoing efforts to promote and revitalize the borough.
According to JCT Board Secretary, Dawn Karellas, the Casino Night will be held at the Johnsonburg Volunteer Fire Department Fire hall at 6 p.m. that evening. ‘Casino Night: A Queen of Hearts Experience,’ will have an Alice in Wonderlandtype theme and attendees are asked to wear appropriate costumes from the story or simply wear red to make the event even more festive.
“It’s a fun time. It’s a time to get out and have a good time, forget about your worries and help a good cause,” Karellas said.
At the event attendees will receive 10 gaming tickets for casino games such as Roulette, Texas Hold ‘em, Black Jack, and Black Jack Switch, along with a trivia game table. Tickets will also include drink tickets, hor d’oeuvres and prizes.
Professional dealers, along with special guest dealers, will be at the game tables.
All funds from the event will go toward the many projects the
JCT is working toward, including establishing the Heritage Education Center, renovations of green space at Market Street and Center Street, and renovations to the Brick Block building to help reestablish retail areas in the downtown area.
“Every little bit we do is bringing more and more good,” Karellas said. “We exist on all donations, grants, our fundraisers and our events. That’s how we’re able to make the community a better place.”
The JCT is a nonprofit organization established in 1997 by a group of citizens to help revitalize Johnsonburg.
