ROCKFORD - Marlene L. Truesdale, born on August 11, 1936 on the family farm in rural Richland County, Wisconsin. She lived a life rooted in compassion, sprinkled with humor, and brimming with undying spirit. Her legacy is a testament to the joy of laughter, the warmth of thoughtful­ness, and the power of love. She passed away on August 12, 2023, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

Marlene’s life was grounded in her love for her family and her community. After exchanging vows with her beloved husband, Milton Truesdale, on November 26, 1954, having been married 58 years they built a beautiful life together in Durand, Illinois, a fond place they called home and then retired to Wesley Willows in Rockford, IL. Her dedication was not limited to her family; she was a devoted worker, spending 35 years at Amerock in manufactur­ing assembly. In her leisure time, Marlene was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, cheerfully rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. As an active member of the Durand United Methodist Church, she touched many lives with her spirited presence and compassion­ate heart.

Marlene is survived by her son, Ronald (Trista) Truesdale and their children Theanna (Adam) Ledyard, Tellus “Andy” (Sarah) Truesdale, Tarah (Seth) Goodson, Tori (Tim ) Babbitt; daughters, Paige (Jim) Getz and their children Matthew ( Jenny) Getz, Nicholas Getz, Jenna Getz; Nancy (significan­t other Tim Smaby) Truesdale-Kleckler and her children Phillip (Randi) Kleckler and Nathan Kleckler; Marlene was blessed with 20 great grandchild­ren; her brother, Elmer (Angie) McCauley; numersous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents, Byron and Edna McCauley; her great-grandson, Gideon Goodson; and her siblings, Nellie Parsons, Granville McCauley, Leatha Henderson, Melvin McCauley, Katie Crouch, and Vic McCauley.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2023 in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main St. Durand, IL with Rev. Brenda Byrne officiatin­g. Burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery. A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home -Durand Chapel 101 Main St. Durand, IL from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2023.
