Denis Orvin Landers
ROCKFORD - Denis Orvin Landers, 55, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his residence.
Denis was born on September 8, 1967, in Minot, ND, the son of Irwin and Ruby (Jorgensen) Landers. He was raised on the family farm outside of Kenmare, ND, and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1985. In 1990, he graduated from University of North Dakota (UND) as an accounting major with a Bachelors in Business Administration.
Denis moved to Rockford, IL, to start his accounting career. He worked for Goodwill Industries as Staff Accountant from 1990 until 1995, Joseph Behr & Sons as Cost Accountant from 1995 until 2016, Alter Trading as Financial Accountant from 2016 until 2017, and ITW Medical as Cost Accounting Analyst from 2017 until 2021.
He spent his spare time helping on his folks’ farm during the spring & fall seasons. He was an avid UND hockey fan, very involved with Rockford Rescue Mission, a part-time firearm instructor, and enjoyed hunting. Denis was active in researching and sharing current events with family and friends.
Denis was a great man of God, very servant minded, and a man of integrity. In speaking with his colleagues, they state, “He was a very good man with a big heart.”
His loving family includes his parents, Irwin Landers (Father), Ruby Landers (Mother); siblings, Susan (Thilmer) Roemmich, Jamestown, ND, James (Renita) Landers, Kansas City, MO, Karen (Don) Hanford, Joshua, TX, Donna (Scott) Gill, Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Karen Hanford (2008), Ruby Landers (2009), and Irwin Landers (2015).
Visitation: Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, August 15, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND.
