ROCKFORD - Ronald “Ron” A. Osborne, 73, Rockford, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Ron was born on October 25, 1950, in Rockford to Charles “Randy” Randle and Mary (Wainwright) Osborne. He was a loving husband to Pamela (Rathman) Osborne who he married on May 1, 1994, in Pacific Grove, California.

Ron was a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He was a charter member of Kantorei, The Singing Boys of Rockford and a parent and hospitalit­y chair for Kantorei for many years while his grandsons (sons he raised) were in Kantorei. He is known by his family for being an amazing chef. His food was never just food, it was an experience. His passion was to please people with his food. He had a restaurant in Seattle and partnered in a restaurant on Cannery Row in Monterey, CA. He also sold windows and doors to contractor­s in Monterey and Santa Barbara, CA. Ron was a die-hard fan of the Cubs and the Seahawks Football team. Ron had a bachelor’s degree in architectu­re and received certificat­ion in Culinary Arts in Hyde Park, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; his sons, David (Lori) Osborne of Orange, CA; Laz (Ruth) Eco of Rockford; Joshua (Jo) Eco of Rockford; his grandchild­ren, Ashley, Dylan, and Hailey; his four great-grandchild­ren; his brother, Michael (Anna) Osborne; sisters, Nancy (Mike) Van Milligen and Patricia (Phil) Dietrich; and many nieces and nephews. Predecease­d by his parents, and nephew Chuck Osborne.
