Doris Ann Langejans

GRAND RAPIDS - Doris Ann Langejans (Boeve), age 85, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 29th, 2024. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family. She was satisfied with her long life and yearned to be in the presence of Jesus and in the arms of her family and friends who went before. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Geneva, brother Dick, brother Wayne, sister-in-law Hazel, nephew Ron, and great nephew Chris. Doris is survived by husband Dr. Gordon Langejans, daughter Linda (David), son Todd (Jennifer), son Scott (Sheli), and a host of loving grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Doris was born in Kalamazoo, MI and grew to know Gordon at Holland Christian High-School and Graafschap Christian Reformed Church. As they were starting out and raising a family, Gordon and Doris lived in West Michigan, Detroit, California, Rockford IL, and finally Grand Rapids, MI, but their deepest roots were always in West Michigan and Rockford, IL.

Gordon and Doris were married for 65 years. They set an example of faith and love for their kids and always prioritized time with their family above all else. Throughout Doris’ life she loved sewing, needlework, caring for her yard and flowers, making her home a beautiful place to live, and she could set a holiday table like no other.

The family would like to thank the Faith Hospice nurses and doctors for their loving care of Doris and her family.
